Boosting corruption reporting enabling environment in state-owned enterprises

During the past few months, the MAAA members, Prof. Dr. Mišo Dokmanović (former president of MAAA) and Prof. Dr. Darko Spasevski from the Faculty of Law “Justinianus Primus”, Skopje, and Irena Popovska, MA and General Secretary of the  State Commission for Preventing Corruption carried out a monitoring on state-owned enterprises and organized four training sessions aimed to strengthen their capacities in Bitola, Skopje, Tetovo and Štip.

The activities were conducted through the Institute for Strategic Research and Education – ISIE. The project “Study for evaluating the environment for handling reports by whistleblowers, transparency and accountability of state-owned enterprises in the Republic of North Macedonia” was supported by the American Embassy in Skopje and was conducted in the period between December 2022 and April 2023. The findings were presented at few workshops held in Štip, Bitola, Tetovo and Skopje in May this year. The workshops were organized in cooperation with representatives from different municipalities, counselors in municipal councils and the Council of the City of Skopje and state-owned enterprises established by the municipalities, the City of Skopje, the Government and civic activists.
