Strengthening the Digital Capacities and Skills of Incarcerated Women in North Macedonia

As part of the 2023 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund, two Fulbright Alumni, Professor Angelina Stanojoska (Fulbright Visiting Scholar 2021) and other alumni from the Fulbright Student Program, have been awarded a grant for their project “Strengthening the digital capacities and skills of incarcerated women in North Macedonia” (DiCapSIW). Part of the project team are Prof. Dr. Ice Ilijevski and Prof. Dr. Kire Babanoski. Partners of the project are the Faculty of Law, UKLO – Bitola, and the Directorate for execution of sanctions. The implementation is through the NGO Blue Firefly Skopje.

The project’s aim is to support and improve the treatment programs for incarcerated women in North Macedonia and to improve their resocialization and rehabilitation process. By achieving the project goals, the intention is to improve the treatment of incarcerated women and increase the possibilities for their easier re-entry and build a better life back into the community. During the implementation of the activities, incarcerated women will be involved in digital skills training, and by the end of the project, the project team will publish a Handbook for digital skills training of incarcerated population.
