Enlightening experience from the SUSI Program

Diturije Ismaili

.

Diturije Ismaili is a SUSI Scholar from 2024. Through her participation in the SUSI program, she improved both her personal and professional (academic and research) skills. She treasures the given opportunity to network with scholars from around the world who, despite their different cultures and backgrounds, share a common goal of improving knowledge about history, cultures, identities, citizenship, politics, religion, media, and values in U.S. institutions.

The academic sessions were particularly engaging, offering in-depth insights into political dynamics of the United States. Diturije found the material so compelling that she continued to read and research further on her own. The sessions were truly eye-opening, and she feels fortunate to have learned from distinguished professors and experts in the field.

Beyond the sessions and group discussions, she connected with peer collaborators, where they explored shared interests and exchanged expertise, knowledge, and skills. She is grateful for the time and guidance offered by her peers. Cultural exchange is a core aspect of SUSI, and she had the privilege of meeting incredible peers like Qeenbala, Syeda, and Chih-Wen. Together, they shared stories, daily routines, and cultural traditions, deepening their understanding of each other’s worlds.

The SUSI experience has been an enriching blend of education, intellectual growth, and cultural exchange. She declared that the knowledge and perspectives gained are invaluable, empowering her to make a positive impact on the academic community. This program has also allowed her to build meaningful connections with people from around the world, broadening her understanding through their unique experiences and insights.
